PRIVACY POLICY

FRAGBRATEN is a hobby project run by one person. This page lists what the game at fragbraten.com stores about you, why, and who else is involved. We do not sell your data.
Playing as a guest
You can play without an account. The server knows the callsign you type for as long as you are connected, and the names and scores in a finished match are saved in its match history. Your settings (callsign, mouse sensitivity, volume and so on) are kept in your own browser's local storage, not on our server.
Accounts
If you create an account we store your callsign, when the account was created and last used, your game results (games, wins, frags, deaths and match history) and any supporter preferences. Passwords are never stored in plain text. This information is used to log you in, keep your callsign for you and show your stats and the leaderboard. Your browser keeps you logged in by storing a login token in its local storage.
Payments
Becoming a supporter is optional. Payments are handled by Stripe; your card details go to Stripe and never reach our server. We keep a record of each payment (Stripe's reference numbers, the amount, the currency and which account it was for). Stripe's own privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
Feedback and chat
Messages sent with /feedback are saved with your callsign, the time and the map you were on, so the developers can read them. Chat messages are passed to the other players in your game and are not saved.
Server logs
Like most websites, our web server logs each request with your IP address and browser type. These logs are deleted after 14 days. The game server also notes the IP address when someone logs in or creates an account, and keeps it for a short time in memory to limit repeated attempts. We use these only to keep the game running and to stop abuse. Database backups are kept for 14 days.
Advertising and cookies
Some pages of fragbraten.com may show ads from Google AdSense. The game itself sets no cookies, but Google and its partners may:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. How Google uses information from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
The page's font is loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests it from Google's servers.
Children
FRAGBRATEN is a shooter and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your data
To have your account and its records deleted, or to ask what we hold about you, send a message with /feedback while logged in to that account.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
